Beef stroganoff is a signature winter dish. We've made our recipe extra filling by serving it with fettuccine.

Ingredients

  • 500 g fat trimmed rump steak, cut into strips
  • 2 tsp ground paprika
  • 13 second spray Always Fresh Simply Canola Spray
  • 1 medium onion, thinly sliced
  • 2 clove garlic, crushed
  • 400 g mushroom, sliced
  • 3/4 cup Continental Real Liquid Stock Real Chicken Stock
  • 1/4 cup tomato paste
  • 1 tbs worcestershire sauce
  • 320 g dry pasta, fettuccine
  • 1/2 cup Weight Watchers Sour Cream
  • 2 tbs fresh chives, chopped

Method

1. Combine beef with paprika in a medium bowl. Lightly spray with oil.

2. Heat a large non-stick frying pan over medium-high heat. Add half the beef and cook for 2 minutes. Transfer to a bowl. Repeat with remaining beef.

3. Add onion and garlic and cook for about 2 minutes. Add mushrooms and cook, stirring, for about 2 minutes.

4. Return beef to pan along with stock, tomato paste and sauce. Simmer uncovered for 5 minutes.

5. Cook pasta in a large saucepan of boiling salted water, following packet instructions of until tender. Drain.

6. Stir sour cream through beef mixture. Place pasta on serving plates. Spoon over beef. Sprinkle with chives and serve.

You could try serving with rice instead of fettuccine pasta.
